The experience of the Avante Corp management team is one of its biggest assets. Guided by a seasoned Board of Directors, the management team has created a disciplined and consistent approach to sourcing, evaluating, managing and creating value for its investments. The team is significantly invested in each of our portfolio companies and approaches each business as shareholders.
Management
For over 35 years Emmanuel (Manny) Mounouchos has been a key figure in the Canadian security industry. Following his graduation from Ryerson University in 1986, Manny established his first security company, Omni Security Inc. In 1996, he founded Avante Security Inc., a now wholly-owned subsidiary of the Corporation, which became publicly traded in 2008. Manny was also instrumental in the formation of Matiadeka Ventures Inc., a capital pool company that acquired Avante Security Inc. in 2008. He is a member of various Canadian security associations including ASIS Canada and Canadian Security Association (“CANASA”). Manny stepped down from his role as Co-CEO of the Corporation in 2015 before rejoining the Corporation in 2018 as a consultant and becoming CEO on March 30, 2022.
Mr. Kapoor brings thirty years of progressive experience as a financial executive in Toronto and Seattle, USA. Most recently, he was Vice President, Finance and Administration at Optimus SBR Inc., a management consulting firm in Toronto. Prior roles include: Vice President, Finance and Operations at Baymount Inc., Chief Financial Officer at BizXchange Inc., and Vice President, Finance and Operations at iJoin Technologies. Mr. Kapoor holds the Certified Management Accountant designation and has earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Toronto.
Since 2017, Alessandro Martello has served as the CEO & Founder of NSSG. Prior to this role, he held the position of Director of Special Operations at a prominent international private security firm before stepping down. With a background as a Special Forces Detachment Leader in the Italian Army and graduate of Ashworth College, he is an active member of ASIS International and holds positions within both the Crisis Management & Business Continuity Steering Committee and The Security Institute.

Involved in a number of startup and early-stage companies assisting them with their overall strategic direction, financing and related corporate activities.

Wendy Teramoto
Lead Director
Senior investment management professional with an affiliate of Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited since 2018. Founding partner and Managing Director at a New York-based private equity firm affiliated with Invesco Ltd.
Served as a board member for several companies in the transportation sector, including Greenbrier Companies and Navigator Holdings Ltd. Ms. Teramoto is recognized as an audit committee financial expert under New York Stock Exchange and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission rules.
